A bridge with a single main wire spanning two or more towers with vertical wires hanging down from the main wire, connecting it to the deck (the flat part you can walk on). At no point should the main wire connecting the towers touch the deck. Contrast this with a cable-stayed bridge where wires run directly from towers to the deck.
