A personification of the Chinese derogatory insult 日本鬼子/rìběn guǐzi ("nihon onigo" in Japanese), which means "Japanese Devils." The word itself originated from the 2001 Japanese doctumentary of the same name about various surviving veteran of the Sino-Japanese wars and World War II recounting their war crimes. This word is often used in a debate revolves around the annual homage to the Yasukuni shrine (the resting place of several Japanese war criminals).
