A drawstring is a cord that, when pulled, gathers up and shortens the material through which it is threaded. Drawstrings are commonly used to secure hoods on hoodie and hooded_jacket and tighten waistbands on garments such as sweatpants and bloomers. They may also be used to to keep bag closed.
