She was a princess of Aethiopia who was chained to a rock by her parents as a sacrifice to the sea monster Cetus (fate), only to be rescued by the hero Perseus (fate). She utilizes the facts that "Andromeda was chained to a rock" and "Cetus was turned to stone" to summon Cetus as her Noble Phantasm (fate).
